EVERYTHING ABOUT THE WORLD OF INFRASTRUCTURE
SPE CONNECTORS
In order to make SPE an enabler of the smart field level and the IIoT, a uniform infrastructure and device components are needed that are coordinated and work together. Device and chip developers begin their work on the basis of a uniform and standardised infrastructure of cables and interfaces. Only when the networking of the devices is safely guaranteed do they have the necessary security to invest in a completely new market. With the T1 industrial style interface, such an interface is available. It fulfils all relevant standards and also harmonises with the SPE cable standards.
IN GOOD SHAPE FOR BITS AND BYTES
In production, nothing causes more excitement than when everything is at a standstill. This is particularly annoying when it's down to a small component of the infrastructure that can't stand up to the tough demands. To prevent this from happening in an SPE Ecosystem, the T1 Industrial connector has a very robust design. The shielding plates are made entirely of stainless steel sheet. A robust core and a reliable cable gland ensure enough stability in the field level and other tough locations.
THE CONTAINER PRINCIPLE
In industry, a wide variety of standards for plugs and sockets have prevailed over the decades. Enclosures with quick-release locks, screw terminals in metric or inch dimensions. In order to be able to continue to use these proven sizes and dimensions, the T1 interface has been developed in a kind of container principle. It fits into familiar M12, M8 or other enclosures and can thus take over the protective properties of this proven standard. At the same time, an IP 20 T1 can be plugged into an open IP 65/67 interface for service purposes, thus creating ease of maintenance.
In 2020, in addition to an IP 20 variant, there will also be the first IP 65/67 interfaces in M12 and M8 format. They are used for the fast and at the same time well-protected connection of applications in demanding environments.
A STRONG CONNECTION
You know that moment when the plastic clip of the LAN connector is broken off? Just because you got caught carelessly on the cable once. Such moments of material weakness have no place in industrial applications. For this reason, the T1 interface is equipped with a robust metallic lock made of stainless steel. For a strong connection even under tough conditions.
REALLY PACKS A PUNCH
SPE is not only a smart gamechanger for the field level, but also saves a lot of space. Contemporary miniaturisation for every device interface. With all this miniaturisation, stability in the device must not be neglected. For this reason, the T1 Industrial device socket has four robust THR shield contacts that are reliably soldered into the PCB and provide the best stability. The contacts are also designed as pin-in-hole versions. Should the socket have to absorb unexpectedly high forces, they cannot simply detach from the surface. A small but robust side of the device that can really take a beating in case of doubt.
PROTECTS WHAT IS IMPORTANT
To meet the high frequency requirements of SPE, SPE infrastructure must be particularly well shielded. The standard interface now developed for the industry has therefore been fundamentally redesigned to meet these requirements. A completely symmetrical mating face in conjunction with a horizontal device socket, ensure exactly the same run times in both copper wires to avoid signal overlaps. A completely 360° closed stainless steel shell, which encloses the entire connector, ensures excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and protects what is important: the data of your production.
