COMPETENCE IN THE SPE ECOSYSTEM

With the Single Pair Ethernet components ETHERLINE® T1 and EPIC® DATA SPE, LAPP offers products that prioritize downsizing. As the name Single Pair Ethernet already promises, only a single pair of wires is used for data transmission - in contrast to the 4-pair Cat.6 or Cat.7 Ethernet cables. This saves space: The outer diameters of Single Pair Ethernet cables are up to 60 percent smaller than those of their 4-pair counterparts. With outer diameters of less than 5 millimeters, end devices are now more space-saving and with tighter cable bending radii using Ethernet.

Furthermore, direct communication with the sensor is now more economical than before thanks to Single Pair Ethernet. Based on Single Pair Ethernet standards, LAPP has developed a complete system for cabling and connecting Single Pair Ethernet in industrial applications. This includes a complete portfolio of Single Pair Ethernet cables for industrial applications, with various installation methods and cross-sections. An important component is also the standardized connector face according to IEC 63171-6, which ensures a uniform interface. Here, LAPP already offers compact Single Pair Ethernet connectors and PCB sockets with the EPIC® DATA SPE series, as well as double-molded patch cords in various lengths. Industrial Ethernet switches are also planned.
